Past Expeditions

We have been so fortunate to host incredible trips! You can read our trip reports from previous trips below.

April 2023 - Monterey

This spring we had two great trips with sightings of humpback whales, Risso's dolphins, sea lions, seabirds and more! A highlight of the trips was a sighting of Aria, the 2022 calf of Fran. You can read more about the trips and about Aria and Fran on our blog.

April 2022 - Monterey

Our three days of spring trips in Monterey Bay were incredible! We did have to handle rolly sea conditions all three of our days - that's typical for Monterey Bay in the spring time. Despite the sea conditions - we had amazing sightings! Each day we sighted over 60 humpback whales. We also had two different sightings of killer whales throughout the weekend and one sighting of a mixed group of Risso's dolphins and Pacific whitesided dolphins.

October 2021 - Monterey

Our first in person event was a huge success! It was incredible to spend three days with an awesome group of whalenerds on Monterey Bay. We had sightings of humpback whales, killer whales, and Risso's dolphins throughout the weekend. Not to mention plenty of sea lions, birds and more on our journey to and from Moss Landing harbor with Blue Ocean Whale Watch. Our lecture Friday night from John Ryan and Will Oestreich from MBARI and Moss Landing Marine Labs was incredible. The playback of the blue whale calls literally rocked the bird room at PG Museum. We also had some special guests appear throughout the weekend.
